As a tribute to those who fell in the line of duty during the fire at the Matanzas supertanker base, the President of the Republic of Cuba decreed an official mourning, from 6:00 a.m. on August 18 until 12:00 p.m. August 19.
During the validity of the official duel, Cuban flag must be raised at half-staff in public buildings and military institutions.
Once the search and identification process of the disappeared persons in the control and extinction of the large-scale fire that occurred at the supertanker base in Matanzas has concluded and as part of the well-deserved tribute of our people, this Friday, August 19, the honors will be held funerals of those fallen in the line of duty.
The tribute will take place at the Firefighters Museum of the city of Matanzas, from 10 in the morning and until 5 in the afternoon of the same day.
During the day the population will be able to express their feelings of pain and solidarity in the face of such sensitive loss of human lives.
Starting at 6 in the afternoon, the funeral procession will be transferred to the pantheon of the fallen for the defense in the city cemetery where the family burial ceremony will take place.
