Diaz-Canel attends an artistic gala for July 26 in Cienfuegos

With the presence of Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and president of the Republic, the artistic gala for July 26, National Rebellion Day, took place on the night of July 25, at Tomas Terry Theater of Cienfuegos.

Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister of the nation, as well as Maryde Fernandez Lopez, member of the Central Committee and first Secretary of the PCC in the territory, among other authorities, also attend the cultural evening.

Directed by Roly Martinez Varens and with a script by Richard Eleaga Alderete, the show offered the public the most autochthonous of Cienfuegos culture, with a tribute to Benny More, known as the Brabaro del Ritmo, and to the outstanding guitar composer Lazaro Garcia, physically disappeared last April 15.

 

The appointment lead to the official reopening of the largest theater of the city, inaugurated on February 12, 1890 and subjected to major repairs in the last four years.
