Ramiro Valdes Menendez, Commander of the Revolution and Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, evaluated in Cienfuegos the development of investments in economic entities of great interest to the country.
During his visit to Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Thermoelectric Plant, he found out about the capital repairs carried out by dozens of workers in unit #3, which received its last maintenance in 1996 and, nowadays it receives changes in the boiler, turbine, generator and main transformer.
Since October last year, this unit is submited to a transformation process to generate 158 megawatts once it is connected to the National Energy System (SEN by its Spanish acronym), according to the work schedule in October 2018, said Jose Osvaldo Gonzalez Rodriguez, its director.
Accompanied by Lydia Esther Brunet Nodarse, member of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party and its first secretary in Cienfuegos, and Mayrelis Pernia Cordero, president of the Provincial People´s Power, Valdes Menéndez verified the progress of the NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus) mixed fertilizer plant and Potassium) with delays in earth moving and assembly work, mainly.
Valdes Menendez appreciated also the start-up of the Diesel Power Plant of “Camilo Cienfuegos” oil refinery, with an 85 percent execution and until the moment of this report is at 65 percent of its capacity to generate 84mw at the end of the investment.
Almost at the end of his visit and exchange with the workers, Ramiro Valdes, Commander of the Revolution declared to the press that the process of investing in the southern industries is praiseworthy, mainly in the Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Thermoelectric Plant.
