The Russian head of state also said with satisfaction that bilateral relations are in very good time, which was fully confirmed by President Diaz-Canel’s recent visit to Moscow.
Putin also stressed he trusts continuity in the joint work, both on the bilateral and international agenda, and expressed to the Cuban government and people his wishes for well-being and prosperity.
During the Cuban president’s recent visit to Russia, the extensive bilateral cooperation program was reviewed and the importance of Russia’s participation in Cuba’s development program until 2030 was confirmed.
Diaz-Canel met with Putin in the Kremlin, the presidents of the Duma (Russian lower house), Viacheslav Volodin, and of the Council of the Federation (senate), Valentina Matvienko, as well as with the Russian communist leader, Guennadi Ziuganov.
Both sides signed a Joint Declaration, listing tasks in various cooperation areas, including political, economic, cultural, scientific and humanitarian, among others.
