Cuban culture and its exponents have taken different initiatives Wednesday in Havana’s neighborhoods affected by the tornado on Sunday night, January 27.
The Cuban singer Alain Daniel is one of the artists who expressed his solidarity and expressed his willingness to help the people of the damaged localities.

I have decided to donate the incomes of my presentation next February 2 in the Havana Cafe Salon at the Melia Cohiba Hotel (…), Daniel wrote in Facebook.

The musician said that these incomes will be given to the agency Musicalia of Artex to give them to the victims and invited other artists to join the noble cause.

Havana belongs to everyone, it needs us and we are all Havana, he concluded.

This sample of affection and solidarity was also shared by the vocalist Leoni Torres, who in Instagram expressed his desire to help.

The composer Descemer Bueno was another of those who joined the push with a concert offered on Tuesday January 29 at the bar La Esencia to raise funds.

Elito Reve, the urban music singer Divan and Eme Alfonso, well-known figures in Cuban plastic arts, also posted their support messages on social media.

Various institutions, community socio-cultural projects and activist networks organize collections of food, water and clothing to alleviate the material damage caused by the atmospheric phenomenon. They also develop cultural initiatives and reach the affected neighborhoods to work on the collection of debris.

Such is the case of the University of Havana’s Faculty of Communication, the Latin American Press Agency, the Cuban Art Factory, the Hermanos Saiz Association and the National Council of Plastic Arts.

The tornado hit Guanabacoa, Regla, Diez de Octubre and San Miguel del Padron, killing four people and injuring almost 200.
