The IV Latin-American Monologue Festival and Terry Prize were convened for February 2019 to homage the 129 anniversary of Tomas Terry Theater foundation and Cienfuegos city bicentennial.
The festival will present personal theater performances, puppets and street theater; it will also hold theoretic encounters with workshops and presentations aimed to specialists and general audience, as informed by Rene Gomez Torres, communication specialist from the Provincial Center of Performing Arts.
There will be awarded the Terry Prize in male, female, stage performance and playwright categories for aLatin-Americantheater paly. Both Tomas Terry Theater and Casa de las Americas, which are hosts for this festival accept enrollment for group shows, contests, and lectures, in order to achieve an exchange space for practice and knowledge.
Cienfuegos, known as the capital of Cuban monologue, started to convene this international contest in 2012, since then highly recognized theater performers such as Spanish theater actress Victoria Abril have visited the festival.
Miguel Cañellas, director of Tomas Terry Theater in Cienfuegos, explained that people interested in registering theater plays for contest can do it until September 2018.
