During an event to mark the 60th anniversary of these ties, Yang Jiechi, Foreign Affairs Director of the Communist Party of China, described the achievements of cooperation in different fields as satisfactory.
He expressed his hope that the parties will move toward an even brighter future in the development of their relations.
Meanwhile, Lin Songtian, president of the Chinese People’s Friendship Association with Foreign Countries (Aapche), expressed his willingness to work together with Cuba to deepen fraternity and mutually beneficial cooperation.
He also called for strengthening political trust, cultural exchanges and mutual support in the international arena, as this would further contribute to the socialist cause.
In his speech, the Cuban ambassador here, Carlos Miguel Pereira, stressed that Beijing-Havana relations are marked by affinities, consensus and the challenge of building socialism despite unilateralism, blockades, protectionism, policies of force and double standards in the fight against terrorism.
