Cuban long-distance runner Henry Jaen won for the sixth time the marathon Marabana 2018, the popular race with highest participation in the country.
Early this morning, president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, greeted the runners. ‘Very well to dawn in Havana #LaHabana500 with the #Marabana2018.

Cuba and the European Union (EU) on Monday reviewed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, including the analysis of initiatives in the fields of culture and climate change.
As confirmed by the Center for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Investment (ProCuba), the exchange was taken over by the first Subcommittee on Cooperation between the parties, which also served as a scenario to sign new joint projects.

The Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) on Monday defended the integrity of the Cuban doctors who are working in Brazil and condemned the derogatory statements by President-elect Jair Bolsonaro about them.
We support the statement from the Cuban Ministry of Health on the decision not to continue participating in Brazil’s More Doctors Program in a humanitarian act and to protect the physical and moral integrity of our physicians, the text added.

The 29th Caravan of Pastors for Peace paid tribute to Fidel Castro on Saturday, in the patrimonial cemetery of Santa Ifigenia,  to whom the United States-Cuba friendship initiative was closely linked since 1992.
The first gesture in the city of solidarity activists, led by Gail Walker, daughter of the Reverend Lucius Walker, promoter of that crusade until his death in 2010, was extended to Jose Marti and the founding fathers of the Homeland with fresh flowers before the eternal flame of the necropolis.

Argentina submarine ARA San Juan is found

The ARA San Juan submarine disappeared 430km (270 miles) off the Argentine coast on 15 November 2017.

The navy stopped its rescue mission two weeks after the sub’s disappearance.

However, a year and a day after it went missing, officials announced it had been found 800m (2,620ft) below the surface of the Atlantic Ocean.

Cuba and the European Union (EU) will hold on Monday in Brussels, Belgium, the first Dialogue on Unilateral Coercive Measures, according to a statement from the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The main issues to be addressed will be the legal and practical aspects of existing EU legislation to counteract the extraterritorial application of third country legislation and the use of unilateral coercive measures with extraterritorial effect as a political and economic means of exerting pressure against states.

The Workers’ Central Union of Cuba (CTC), will organize the program on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution, aimed at achieving the active presence of its members.

The objectives are related to the celebration by the unions and their membership of the eighty years of the creation of the CTC and the realization of the 21th Workers’ Congress, Carmen Rosa Lopez Rodriguez, second secretary of the organization, said.

The president of the Engage Cuba coalition, James Williams,  has criticized the US Government’s  decision to extend  the list of Cuban companies restricted to US citizens.
The Department of State announced on Wednesday that 26 new sub-entities were added to the list released on November 8, 2017, as part of the Donald Trump administration’s measures to further limit trade with Cuba and US citizens’ travels.
